Horizon Construction Ltd, a leading infrastructure development company established in April 2007, specializes in road construction, housing, energy, water resources, and construction equipment. To strengthen our team and support ongoing operations, we are seeking qualified, experienced, and motivated professionals for the following positions:.
CHIEF ACCOUNTANT
RESPONSIBILITIES

- Cost and production accounting;
- Project and Revenue accounting;
- Inventory management;
- Cost control and efficiency management;
- Take lead in financial reports analysis;
- Manage non-current assets and the asset register;
Primary responsibilities:
- Revenue and work in progress accounting for Projects
- Managing trade and other receivables accounts such as supplier advances and client retention
- Cost accounting and take lead in cost control initiatives.
- Ensure effective and efficient.
- value chain management and control
- Oversee the accounting treatment, approval, and processing of transactions to be posted in SAP.
- Take lead in departmental and project budget preparations.
- Support project, and departmental or resident accounting staff.
- Prepare periodic management reports for departments and project.
- Budget performance monitoring and mid-term budget reviews
- Maintain transactions records in line with company policy procedures.
- Support internal and external auditors.
- Advise Projects and department on management on accounting matters.
- Prepare Monthly, Quarterly and Annual financial Reports using approved standard reporting formats.
- Provide assurance on the accuracy and reliability of information used to prepare financial reports.
- Create and maintain statutory and external reporting calendar to inform stakeholders of necessary deadline adherence.
- Manage annual audits and quarterly reviews by the external auditor.
- Build a culture of excellence by promoting speedy processing and consistent financial reporting.
- Oversee period-end closing.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
At least Bachelor’s Degree (A0) in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration
Qualification in CPA,ACCA,CMA or any other related qualification is required
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
At least 6 years’ experience in the similar role
Experience in the construction industry is an added advantage.
OTHER SKILLS
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting and internal control principles
- Highly Numerate with Strong analytical skills.
- A good communicator
- Ability to work in a team environment
